Owed by Jorge Ordonez and the Gil family The winery is located in the village of Villanueva de Campean near Zamora in the historic area known as de la Tierra del Vino, The Land of Wine. This designation pre dates the current designation of the nearby appellation of Toro. The region known as de la Tierra del Vino should have been included in the D.O. Toro but was forgotten when the boundaries were drawn. This region was chosen for this winery because of the unique soils, similar to those found within the D. O. Toro.
