Varietal:Pinot Noir
Region: California » North Coast » Anderson Valley
Producer: Breggo
Alcohol: 14.6%

Syrah grown in the Anderson Valley tends to be rich in aromas of black pepper and savory spices, this wine is no exception. Aromas of cedar and bay leaf mingle with hints of rosemary and peppermint. The fruit is a sweet blend of cassis, black cherry and black plums. The dense palate is packed with flavors of blueberry, black pepper, and hints of smoked meats on the finish.

Wine Spectator

Pure, ripe, vivid and structured, this is full-bodied, with a mix of mineral, loamy earth, currant, dried berry, sage and cedar flavors. Very tightly wound, finishing with a wild berry aftertaste. Drink now through 2018.

Score: 92. —James Laube, October 15, 2011.

Wine Advocate

The 2009 Pinot Noir has loads of pomegranate, sweet and sour cherries, and spice box. It is pleasantly similar to a light to medium-bodied generic Cote de Beaune Drink it over the next 2-3 years.

Score: 87. —Robert Parker, February 2011.
