St. Hallett

St Hallett is dedicated to translating the tapestry of soils and meso-climates of the Barossa in each of its wines. This is made possible by a rich resource of old vines, long-term relationships with growers and the winemakers' experience and intimate approach to each individual parcel of fruit from the vineyard, through the winery to the final wine. Evolution and innovation, in the pursuit of excellence have proved a consistent thread running through St Hallett's history.

Wine Enthusiast

This wine offers a touch of elegance in a region where it's in short supply. The nose is on the subtle side, but not lacking in complexity, with layers of coffee, vanilla, tar and chocolate-covered cherries. On the palate, raspberry and cherry fruit is encased in finely polished tannins that set the stage for a long, juicy finish. Drink or hold several years for even more complexity.

Score: 88. December 31, 2009.

Wine Spectator

This is chewy, with a layer of fine tannins underlying juicy red berry, cherry and a hint of mint in the flavor profile, lingering on the finish. Best from 2011 through 2015.

Score: 87. —Harvey Steiman, August 31, 2009.
